Heath Miller, owner and operator of Muncy Creek Outfitters, has been fishing Pennsylvania’s waters since childhood. From the moment he picked up a fishing rod, he was hooked—now, his greatest passion is helping others experience the thrill of fly fishing in Pennsylvania. With years of experience exploring the Susquehanna River, Penns Creek, Pine Creek, and Loyalsock Creek, Heath has developed expert techniques that ensure his guests have the best chance at landing trophy trout and smallmouth bass.
Heath is a master in the art of fly fishing, fly tying, and teaching. His skill in crafting hand-tied fly patterns gives his guests an advantage by replicating local aquatic life in a way that fish can’t resist. Whether you’re new to the sport or an experienced angler, Heath shares his extensive knowledge to improve your technique and increase your success on the water. He is dedicated to making every trip educational, productive, and unforgettable for his guests.
At Muncy Creek Outfitters, anglers of all skill levels are welcome. Families with children are encouraged to join, as Heath creates a fun and engaging environment for all ages. While he is a skilled smallmouth bass guide, his true passion lies in trout fishing. From casting for brook trout in small mountain streams to pursuing rainbow trout and brown trout in larger rivers, Heath enjoys every aspect of the sport. In the warmer months, guests can experience dry fly fishing on Penns Creek, Pine Creek, and Loyalsock Creek, while nymphing and spin fishing take center stage in the fall and winter.
The Boat - To provide the best experience, Heath uses two boats tailored to different fishing adventures. His 14' Flycraft Guide Pro raft is ideal for float fishing trips on Loyalsock Creek and Pine Creek, giving anglers access to secluded waters that are otherwise difficult to reach. For smallmouth bass fishing on the Susquehanna River, Heath’s 18’ Crestliner FX189 offers the perfect setup for targeting these powerful fighters. Whether you're looking for a peaceful day of trout fishing or an action-packed bass fishing trip, Heath has the equipment, knowledge, and expertise to make your Pennsylvania fishing adventure a success!
